Viennese Design Path from June 17 through 20, 2009
"A global - national voyage of discovery"
The Linner Gallery, which opened in October 2008, sponsors young female Italian designers within the setting of its exhibitions. While planning to bring a greater international flair to the Austrian designing landscape during these exhibitions, the linking element in this gallery will always remain national and restricted to Italy.
Especially for Design Path 2009 we will cross this national borderline for the first time in discerning to what extent common characteristics in the global world of design can be recognised at all. This has prompted us to present the new Austrian CZD label (which stands for Christian Zimmerl Design) for the first time within this interesting exhibition. The CZD label is presented within the context of a global journey of discovery featuring materials ranging from American walnut to laminate and Greek olive wood.
The furniture especially manufactured for this exhibition will be arranged with special Italian pieces, so that a clear borderline between the Italian and Austrian objects can no longer be discerned. This will make visitors aware of the blurring of national and global borderlines.
Especially on these days there will also be a fusion of Austrian and Italian culinary delicacies in the coffee area of the gallery.
